About Georgia
Town Crafting is owned and run by Georgia Smith, whose 20 years of experience in the field have seen her set up and manage a number of town centre management projects. Since creating Town Crafting in 2013 she has advised on the creation of BIDs, created and developed a range of major events and advised on retail development within the tourism and heritage fields.
Georgia's early career was in translation and interpreting working in Europe before moving into general business and property management in the UK in the 1990s. She worked in export and for property developers Stanhope and British Land before continuing her career in place and tourism management. She set up the town centre partnership in Gloucester before moving to Worcester where she initially headed up the town centre partnership, oversaw the creation of the city's first BID and took the city's tourism service into the private sector.
She went on to set up Town Crafting, the boutique consultancy which has advised a number of town teams and partnerships across the Midlands and guided steering groups through the process of setting up BIDs, major new events and evaluating service delivery and retail offers.
